Not only is she a home design expert who helps deserving moms freshen up their homes on her new show, but she’s fabulously stylish to boot! Tracy was kind enough to give us the skinny on her favorite fashion brands, as well as tips on how busy mamas can make style a part of their lives…Because we want everything in our life to be stylish, from our homes to our wardrobes right?
What is your go-to spring/summer look?
With the luxury of living in Los Angeles, we are blessed with amazing weather yearround. My go-to look is distressed jeans and a fun metallic sandal, like my Jack Rogers. I have to get a new pair every year. I usually pair these with a crisp white shirt that makes accessorizing extremely easy.
Are there are any particular trends you’re really loving this season?
I like to stick to the staple pieces: a nice relaxed cut v-neck (Rag and Bone makes an excellent tee) and lots of fun accessories! This is what really makes an outfit special and come together. I particularly love rose gold bangles mixed with some fun colors like turquoise, and an oversized cute metallic tote.
What are your favorite kid brands?
American Apparel. Their tee shirts are amazing and I buy them in bulk! They’ve got great colors, they wear well, and are super comfy. Most importantly, my boys love them! And of course Target to mix in the other pieces.
Which brands do you turn to regularly for yourself?
Parker, Joe’s Jeans, Rory Beca and Boys and Arrows swim wear. Chloe accessories are definitely one of my top faves though. I just purchased some delightful vintage-looking, large round rose-colored Chloe sunglasses that are to die for. Not to mention their handbags are wonderful too!
What’s your advice for busy moms who don’t want to lose their style to parenthood?
I think it’s so important to have your key items that are easy to go to, and it will make it so easy to not lose your style or your mind for that matter. Make sure to have items you know work well and can be easy to rotate them. For me, it’s hard to get out the door in the morning with so much going on, and I usually have to dress for the day. I’ll put on my beloved jeans, a classic T-shirt (either a v-neck tee or button down), and switch out my accessories daily. I’m also always prepared to “dress up” in a hurry if needed and bring along my dressier wedge heels that I can throw on and totally change my outfit up to “work mom” if needed. Stuart Weitzman makes a perfect wedge!
