Mom of Style: Anna Liesemeyer

By  May 09, 2014

Anna Liesemeyer, the lovely blogger and mom behind In Honor of Design, makes being stylish look so easy. Would you believe she focuses on comfort first? There is no reason you have to sacrifice comfort for style and Anna proves that in spades. Not only does she blog about her fabulous looks and DIY projects, but she’s the founder of the Brand Market Workshop, which includes brand building events that she hosts across the country. So, obviously this busy mama doesn’t have time to run around in uncomfortable ensembles!

1. You’re a mom of 3…How do you stay stylish amidst the chaos of parenting little ones and running successful businesses?

“I think the key is having the will power to get dressed every morning. It can be a battle of the will for me sometimes, but I know if I make the decision to pull out something stylish and easy to start the day I always have a better week. I will never lose my love for playing with colors and texture so, in a way, it’s like exercising for that creative side of me.”

2. Do you have a signature look? If so, what is it?

“Definitely, jeans, a relaxed tee, booties, and minimal style layered necklaces. Sometimes, just a flowy dress and sunnies.”

3. What are your top picks for spring/summer?

“A good wide brim hat, strappy tie up sandals, and some bohemian style tunic tops.”

4. What are your go-to brands?

“7 for all Mankind for jeans, Everlane for tees, Zara, Asos”

5. If a mom only has 10 minutes to get ready for the day, what should she focus on?

“A good mascara, texturizing spray for the hair for quick volume and body, one bold piece whether it me a necklace or printed shirt, and something comfortable. If you are both comfortable AND stylish, you definitely feel a little more confident about what you are wearing. And we all know that confidence is the key to pulling off any look.”
